"Tree with morning highlights", Charcoal and Pastel on Plywood, 14.5"TWx19"W, 2008/02/17, John Terwilliger

With this piece I start a series of smaller works on plywood. The wood surface adds texture, color, and pattern to the drawing. It also does not take the pastel evenly which makes it more of a challenge.

Undulating Tree

For this drawing I asked a friend to pick out two pastels as the primary colors to use in the drawing. She picked the dark brown and the rust red and this is the result.
