Another old Drawing

Just out of art school I did a number of drawings I like to call monumental drawings. I was drawing on roll paper either 42", 60", or 80" wide. I used a lot of charcoal pastels and sidewalk chalk. I also used spray paint, water color and india ink. This image was called the creation of man and started as a study of my arm across the middle of the page.

Too Cool

This print was started about 10 years ago. The red background and purple shirt are applied differently in each print. The color parts were pinned to the wall for 9 out of the last ten years and I only finished this print last week adding the tan to the face and the black final pressing. As always hand printed without a press.

"Too Cool", 5.5"tx4"w, Wood cut print, Four color print, finished 2007, Edition of 9.

Charles

This is the next little print I have completed. I started flash drying the oil based ink with a heat gun between blocks, which allows me to pull colors the same day. Interesting to note how the ink changes color under 600 degree heat. I'll be using that in upcoming prints after I do some more experimenting.

Linoleum Print, Trading Card Size

I continue to work on trading card sized Linoleum and Wood cut prints. It is interesting to test the small size format rather than my favored large size work. Here are two recent prints to contemplate.
