New Painting WIP June 26 2007

This painting is acrylic on hard board, 24"T x 34"W. I was slapping color on it on Sunday and submitted it to a show yesterday. This even though I don't consider it done. Time will tell.

Art Festivals

Last Weekend I participated in the Red Hot ARt Festival in Minneapolis. This Weekend I am in the the Spring Art Party also in Minneapolis on saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm. I learned a lot last weekend - it was my first art festival as a vendor. So this weekend should be even better. Something to Chew on

Had a little discussion on the lack of communications on our local Arts board this morning. No conclusions, no recommendations, just a feeling something is not quite right. Cannot tell if it's the forum or the people or what. About 1500 members with about 130 "active" whatever that means. It is now evening and no new posts have been made. Kind of proves the point about lack of interest. But then I walked the dog. The light was gray and diffuse and my mind was wandering to all the Framing I still have to do. It was also windy - gray and windy, not my favorite weather conditions to shoot photos in. But here is a little something to chew on. I got maybe five good photos today.

Hard work is Art

Today was a day to frame. I spent the entire day matting and framing Photo's for an arts festival next weekend June 2-3 from 11:00-5:00 each day. The non-art side of the business is very tiring and time consuming. So Here I sit needing to continue to frame. I have thirty frames being delivered tommorrow so the week is going to be busy. Here is a photo from this morning - It's kind of how I felt all day.

Red Hot Art Festival and the Red Hot Art Sneak Peak Show

I am displaying photos in a booth at the Red Hot Art 2007 festival on June 2-3 2007 from 11:00am-5:00pm. With over 40 artist booths displaying and over 20 bands playing on two stages this should be a fun festival. I Also have a photo in the Sneak Peak show opening this Friday with a reception on Saturday May 19 from 6:00-11:00 pm. With over 40 artist in the show this opening should be fantastic.

Spring leaves

Here is a photo I took on 2007-05-10 of dual color Maple leaves on a tree a few blocks from my home.

Work In Process - Again

Here is the same picture after the next go round of paint. Added color into the figure and background as well as more white. It'll be carbon black next I am sure of it.
